Gaurav is a well-known young Hindi poet, lyricist and performer of Kavi Sammelan. He is professionally known as Kavi Gaurav “Sakshi”. He was born in the small town of Rajgarh (Dist. Dhar) in Madhya Pradesh. His family members are known for literature, and that is why he has been interested in literature since childhood. He started writing and performing at the age of 16, and his first performance was in his hometown itself, after which people started to know him as a child performer. He completed his graduation in B.Sc and started doing a job, but he didn’t stop following his passion of writing, and soon he became a well-known poet for Hindi Kavi Sammelan. Formally, Gaurav Chauhan uses the suffix “Sakshi”, which is actually his wife’s name, and he added his wife’s name to his name with the thought that why should a woman always be known by her husband’s name, and why not develop this thought and do something so that the husband becomes famous with his wife’s name. He feels very lucky, as his family always supports him in all his ups and downs.

He is an excellent poet who captivates everyone’s attention. His poems are so joyful and heart-touching, which fills the audience with positivity, kindness, and love. His poetry included Shringar ras, Karun ras, Shant ras, Vatsalya ras, and Hasya ras. Gaurav is best known for his poems of love, such as “Bat Yeh Ek Dashank Purani Hai” and “Do Kinaron Ko Joda Nahi Ja Saka“. 

Aside from poems, he has written songs such as “Sirf Shambhu” and “Jo Sahaj Ho Gay Ho Wah Ram Hai” which have been well received by the public, and he is rising in popularity. He has also written the Jal Sanrakshan Anthem, i.e., “Bachao Bahao na Jal” for the Indore Municipal Corporation.

Also one of his books, Kharonch (Muktak Sangrah), has been published by Samsmay Prakashan Delhi.

He shared the stage with “Yug Kavi Dr. Kumar Vishwas”, Shree Bageshwar Dhaam Sarkar “Dheerendra Shastri”, famous actor politician “Ravikishan” and Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma fame “Shailesh Lodha. 

He has performed for “Cultural and Tourism Departments UP Government” in Ayodhya on the celebrations of Ramlalla Pranpratishtha Mahotswa “Ramotsaw 2024” on 29 February 2024. He also performed for “Sahitya Akadmi MP Government” so many times and also performed for “Hindi Akadmi” Delhi Government on independence day special Rashtreey Kavi Sammelan, “Indian Air Force” Kavi Sammelan in Bangalore, and “Indian Army” Program in Mahu.

He has also performed at many prestigious institutions like “IIT Delhi” in New Delhi, “IIT Roorkee” in Uttarakhand, and “NIT Surat” in Gujarat.

He was honored by the Governor of Karnataka, Dr. Thawarchand Gehlot ji under the Hindi Conference 2024 organized at Indian Air Force Training Command Headquarters, Bangalore (Karnataka).

Gaurav was awarded the “Yuva Geetkar Award” (Rs. 51000/-) in September 2024 by the Vishwas Trust run by Yug Kavi Dr. Kumar Vishwas.

He was also appointed as brand ambassador by the Chief Electoral Officer and District Magistrate Indore for the voter awareness campaign SVEEP run by the Election Commission for the Assembly elections 2023 and Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Apart from this, Gaurav has also been decorated with these honors.

• Awarded with the “Kavya Gaurav” award by Matribhasha Unnayan Sansthan in Indore in 2021
• Vidyanjali Bharat Manch Indore in 2022 decorated him with “Maharathi Samman 2022”.
• Tiwari Smriti Samiti, Indore in 2022 Decorated with “Dr. SN Tiwari Young Creator 2022”.
•  Decorated with the “Kushagra Award” in 2023 by Lalit Foundation Delhi.
•  Maha Kavi Baan Foundation Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) decorated him with “Rashtra Gaurav Samman” in 2023.
